Equine passports, plus any hats to be checked, should be brought to the office before competing and back numbers (which must be worn) should be collected.

The TopSpec weighbridge will be on site from 9 am.
Declaration forms are NOT required.
Rosettes and test sheets will be available to collect from the main reception area.

Dispensation has been given for the layout of arenas.
Dressage is indoors and show jumping is in the outdoor arena.
The first course walk is from 10.30 am until 11 am. The course will only be changed for the style jumping qualifier. Course walks will be fitted in during the day, please listen out for announcements.
Area 1 members who compete and qualify at the 2024 Winter and 2025 Summer Qualifiers will be eligible to enter the new Area 1 Riding Clubs Championships as detailed below:
Area 1 Riding Clubs Dressage Championship – 12th October 2025 – Morris EC
Achieved 65% or higher in Prelim and Novice qualifiers.
Achieved 63% or higher in Intro and Elementary qualifiers.
Earlier this year our Area 1 Chair, Julia Robinson Dow had to step down due to extensive family commitments.
Julia joined the committee in 2019 and became chair in 2023. The Area committee greatly appreciated Julia’s contribution during these years. I joined the committee in February and in April agreed to take on the role of chair until the AGM.
A few years have passed since I served on the Area committee. I am thoroughly enjoying seeing old friends and meeting new members. A lot has changed, a lot has not.
There are different challenges for those involved with club committees. We must embrace change but not lose sight of the camaraderie that has built up over years. The various disciplines are hungry for our members’ participation. It is important that we support our club activities whether it is training or competition. Your Riding Club provides the best foundation for horse and rider to grow in experience and achievement together.
Participation is not confined to riding. Volunteering can be great fun, and entertaining! It is an easy way to give back to the sport we all enjoy so much.
The summer Qualifiers are looming (Saturday 12th July at The Daimler Foundation at Morris EC). Despite healthy memberships every discipline has noted falling participation which makes viability very difficult. I hope those supporting our competitions have a most enjoyable day.
Unfortunately I will not be able to meet you at Morris as I am moving house.

British Riding Clubs Area 1 Winter Intermediate Dressage and DTM Qualifiers at SNEC on Sunday 1st December 2024 hosted by Scottish Dressage Group.

Nominations are open for BRC Area 1 Club Volunteer of the Year. The trophy will be presented to the winner at the Area 1 AGM on Sunday 12th January 2025 at The BHS Scotland Hub, Stirling, FK9 4RN.
Clubs affiliated to BRC Area 1 in 2024 may nominate a volunteer who has gone above and beyond for their Riding Club.
Please complete and submit this form giving details about why you are nominating the volunteer and what they have done for your Club by Monday 23rd December 2024.
Nominations should be submitted by an office bearer or committee member, on behalf of their Club.
